Licensed Master of social Work
Tanner Thurman
I believe that every adolescent has the inherent ability to navigate their unique challenges and emerge stronger, and that with the right support, they can experience significant growth and positive change during these formative years.
Tanner holds a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Kennesaw State University and is a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW). He brings a deep passion for working with children and adolescents, and in addition to his private practice, he serves as a Residential Clinical Therapist at a local nonprofit organization.
With extensive experience providing therapeutic services and case management to children, adolescents, and families through community health agencies, Tanner employs an eclectic approach, emphasizing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to tailor his work to each client's unique needs. He has completed Levels 1, 2, and 3 of Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT) training, further enhancing his ability to support clients in developing emotional resilience, interpersonal effectiveness, and adaptive coping strategies. He specializes in supporting individuals dealing with self-harming behaviors, self-esteem and self-image issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, emotion regulation, and stress management.
As your therapist, Tanner is dedicated to creating a confidential and safe environment where you can openly explore your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. He believes in equipping clients with practical skills for personal growth and is committed to fostering a positive therapeutic alliance. Together, you will work to identify and implement the most effective strategies for your personal journey and development.
